Mr. Avnish Roy is a highly accomplished aviation executive with over 43 years of distinguished leadership experience across airport operations, aircraft maintenance, aviation engineering, MRO management, regulatory affairs, corporate administration, aviation security, infrastructure development, and strategic business leadership.
Prior to founding and leading ROCI Air Pvt. Ltd. as an integrated aviation solutions company, Mr. Roy served for more than 42 years at Air Works India Engineering Private Limited, India's largest independent MRO organization. Progressing through multiple leadership positions across Engineering, Quality, Finance, Human Resources, Administration, Corporate Affairs, Security, and Operations, he held complete operational responsibility as General Manager – Administration, Operations & Engineering (Former Chief Security Officer) for Air Works' nationwide network spanning more than 30 airports and supporting maintenance activities covering over 50 aircraft types including general aviation and commercial airlines.
He is widely recognized for successfully establishing and managing state-of-the-art aviation maintenance facilities, complex airport infrastructure projects, and regulatory compliance frameworks. His exceptional track record of working closely with MoCA, DGCA, BCAS, AAI, CISF, airport operators, airlines, government authorities, and international aviation stakeholders forms the backbone of ROCI Air's premier advisory and operational services.
Executive Highlights
- Nationwide Operations: Directed nationwide engineering, administration, security, and operational activities across more than 30 major airports in India.
- General Aviation Scaling: Played a significant leadership role in expanding the General Aviation business from approximately ₹20 crore to over ₹500 crore, contributing substantially to airline maintenance business growth.
- Infrastructure Development: Led major aviation infrastructure projects, including the establishment of hangars, commercial airlines aircraft maintenance facilities such as Jet Airways Pvt Ltd and Vistara Airlines - a joint venture of Tata & Singapore Airlines, GSE maintenance workshops, and airport support infrastructure across India.
- Regulatory Approvals: Played a major role in obtaining regulatory approvals from National and International Regulatory Authorities such as DGCA, EASA, GCA, FAA, etc. (approvals of more than 19 countries for line maintenance of international airlines).
- Strategic Alliances: Built and maintained strategic relationships with MoCA, DGCA, BCAS, AAI, CISF, Adani Airports, GMR Airports, GVK Airports, Customs & Excise, Delhi Police, Ministry of Home Affairs, and other central and state government agencies.
- Aviation Security Programs: Spearheaded critical security initiatives, including the development and implementation of MRO Security Programmes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Aircraft Recovery & Transitions: Successfully coordinated aircraft recovery, re-delivery, dismantling, regulatory clearances, international logistics, and export procedures for leased aircraft.
